Strategy: how to win at Rebattle
Rebattle takes minutes to play but dozens of games to master. Here are the principles top players apply every turn.

1. Read the table before you play
Attacks always hit the next player in the direction of play. The “Your target” line shows who you hit, and the “Threat” alert shows who can hit you: the player right before you. Before playing, ask yourself: how many hit points do they have, and which cards have they already played?
2. Keep a defence in hand
A Truce protects you from everything this turn, airstrike included. A Boomerang sends the attack back to its author, a Ricochet deflects it to the next player. Redirects chain: two Boomerangs face to face bounce the attack back and forth until someone runs out of counters. Saving a defence for the moment your neighbour can hit hard is often what wins the game.
3. Pace your attacks
- Shot (1 damage): steady, it wears opponents down without revealing your game.
- Rocket (2 damage): ideal to finish a player on 2 HP.
- Nuke (5 damage): eliminates in one hit. Play it when your target is unlikely to hold a Truce or a redirect, for instance right after they used one.
- Airstrike: every other player loses 1 HP and you are spared. Great with 4, 5 or 6 players, or to finish several weakened players at once. It ignores Boomerang and Ricochet, but not Truce.
4. Heal at the right time
The Syringe gives +1 HP that offsets the turn's damage: played on the turn you take a shot, it cancels the hit. Don't waste it at 5 HP when nobody threatens you.
5. Special actions change everything
Spy shows you an opponent's hand for 3 seconds: useful before launching a Nuke. Transfusion swaps your HP with an opponent: a spectacular comeback when you are on 1 HP facing a player on 5. Both are played before your normal card, in the “Special action” slot.
6. Reverse to change targets
Reverse applies on reveal, before attacks: shots played this turn then go the other way. Two Reverse cards cancel out. With 2 players, this card is removed from the deck.
7. In the endgame
- With 2 players every card counts: track the defences already played.
- If everyone falls at once, the last players eliminated replay a tiebreak: there is never a draw.
- You only have 20 seconds: if you don't play, a random card is played for you.

FAQ
What is the strongest card in Rebattle?
The Nuke deals the most damage (5), but a Truce, Boomerang or Ricochet can cancel it or turn it against you. The best card is the one your opponent didn't see coming.
How do I avoid losing on the first turn?
Keep a defence (Truce, Boomerang or Ricochet) as long as you don't know what the player threatening you is planning.
